Answer to posted commentaries

We invite the writer of these commentaries to come to the school for a good talk with us. If one will compare our tuition fees with those of other schools, one will find out that ours is lower.

There were no fights whatsoever that were not reported to the principal and were not dealt with.

There were no gay teachers wearing make up and lipstick in the school and if this was seen by the writer or his / her witness, we invite him or her to come to the school and identify the teacher so we can take proper action.

The principal never put high points on extra-curricular activities. Our criteria is 8-1-1 that is 80 percent- academic, 10 percent –extra-curricular activities and 10 percent- conduct.

We do not force pupils/ students to join field trips as this activity is voluntary. In fact almost half of our pupils do not join field trips.

Pictures are not ours. We let students select and pay later. We don’t force. In fact we tell them to return copies if they do not like and we have many returned copies.

Writer also pointed out that graduates are not admitted to top universities and colleges. It is not true for we are a feeder school to La Salle University. We have graduates at Adamson University, FEU, Mapua Institute of Technology, University of the Philippines, University of Perpetual Help, Lyceum of the Philippines, EAC, PLM, St. Scholastica’s College, New Ear University, Centro Escolar University etc. We have board passers in the field of education, medicine, engineering, accountancy etc. etc. and we have practitioners in various fields already.

Field trip was not only in Star City but in paradise ranch in Pampanga. Field trip is not academic nor partly academic.

We have a school clinic manned by a nurse. We invite the writer to see it. All rooms are air-conditioned. It is not true that there is no aircon. In fact in the high school building, there are two aircon units in each room.

Principal is very generous allowing children to take exams on promises. In fact and some parents could attest that their children have unpaid accounts long after school closed. We remind parents to pay every time. It is but proper for some are busy to remember. When parents write or call, their children are allowed to take the examination even without paying. Some parents who have unpaid accounts 1 or 2 or 3 years ago are even allowed to take the test on further promises.

In some schools graduation fees are included in the miscellaneous fees or other fees and are collected at the beginning. We collect it at the end because some may not graduate and they need not pay it. We use the funds for expenses during graduation which definitely are not included in the fees that we collect at the beginning.

We would be very glad if the writer will visit us and talk to us. We assure you that we will be very thankful if we can clear these matters with you.

St Odilard School - High tuition does not equal Good Education

1 of 3 people found the following review helpful
Very very expensive tuition for the haphazard system in this school. There has been numerous fist fights over petty items. Principal/Owner does not seem on top of the day to day condition. Gay Teacher running around wearing make up -no offense but teachers should put a professional front ( gay or otherwise) when in school.
Principal/Owner mandates that extracurricular activities be counted with very high bearing on academics so that students especially honor students are forced to attend and pay. Unnecessary and dubious charges are always forced upon parents - pictures @ Php 55 2 copies bawal mag hindi system otherwise point deduction.
Do not ever enrol your children here. If you can afford the tuition fee I suggest you look elsewhere. Not a filler school for top universities like Ateneo and DLSU.

User Reviews

Good Points Good PreSchool teacher- Very patient and imparts simple techniques to help the student learn math --- but this is a very individualized review since she is the ONLY NKP teacher on board.
Bad Points Endless requests for payments. Mediocre field trips at very high cost ( Star City Php 1285)that will cost you your child's grades if you don't allow to attend. Gay teacher wearing make up and lipstick. Clinic has no nurse - student already died last year (http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=562749&publicationSubCategoryId=94) because of this. Aircon fee but no aircon. Graduation fee of Php 1850 no breakdown. The principal/owner will not allow your child to take the exam if delayed payment. The high cost does not equal the standards. Very mediocre High School infact no passers to the top universities since 2009
